Sociology NCERT Class 11
In class 11 we have two books for sociology, Introducing Sociology(Samajshastra Parichay) and Understanding Society(Samaj ka Bodh). Many differences we encounter in our society and among societies. Society always influences decisions of individuals with regards to career, residence and lifestyle.
There is difference between sociological explanation and naturalistic explanation. Sociology always has relations with anthropology, economy, politics and psychology. Way of socialization in rural areas is different from urban areas. Also we need to take care of environment for a better society. The book explains the benefit of sustainable development goals.
The book also focuses on the ideas of western socialogists like Karl Marx, Emile Durkheim and Max Weber. Indian sociologists such as M N Srinivas, G S Ghurye, Akshay Ramanlal Desai and D P Mukherjee are also covered in the book.

Sociology NCERT Class 12
The Book Indian Society(Bhartiya Samaj) in class 12 talks about demographics of society with regards to sex ratio, urbanization, religion etc. Caste system and issues in tribal societies have been discussed. You often see Women demanding for equality in all sectors and areas of society and workplaces. Taking care of minorities and differently abled should also be considered as a duty.
Now the second book Social Change and Development in India(Bharat Mein Samajik Parivartan Evam Vikas) takes past into account and discusses how it decides the present face of social conditions. Some concepts like agrarian society, caste system, classes and land reforms are also covered with reference to rural India. We adopted many things in our lives from the colonial period.
Major movements and struggles took place in the past that shaped our societies. In most cases those were for gender equality, caste abolition and basic rights.
